Pluck a string
- Pluck one string and let it ring. Mute the others for the steadiest reading.
- If it names the wrong string, tap the string you're tuning to lock it.
- In a noisy room, hold the phone's microphone close to the head.
- The dial is logarithmic: one cent is a visible step near the centre, and the edges reach an octave and a fifth, so a wrong string or an overtone still lands on it.
